Gloomy weather... nice...dampen tarmac... not so easy on the tires...but the ride must go on
Woke up early thinking that we might not get to ride in the morning due to wet roads. A part form being slippery, I definitely need to clean the bike especially the drivetrain. Wet road usually causes more sands and debris sticking on your chain, cog and pulley. The sand will stick to the oil and grind away at your drivetrain if it is not properly cleaned and lubed.
I thought Azlan our greenhorn rider would have given up after Saturday's maiden ride but to my surprise he already geared up for the hot-rod SARS Spider. That's the spirit lad!
We started a bit late at around 8.15am, hoping for the tarmac to dry up a bit. Wet tarmac means that the tyres are going to be working doubly. Saipol was already there at the RV point and we continued riding the usual route via Sg. Ramal to Semenyih after a brief chat on the ride plan. The weather was gloomy and not so windy.
Zaha joined us at the 1st peak's foothill and we continued the climb. Halfway through we decided to do the small double loop while Azlan waited for us at the last pit stop.
We changed lane right after the 2nd peak before the toll booth to climb the the 1st peak again but from the opposite direction. The climb was much much steeper but shorter in distance compared to climbing from the usual route. We crossed back towards the Sg. Long toll both at the 1st peak and repeat the 2 hills again until the 3rd peak where we usually take our break. Arduous but satisfying...
To Mr. Azlan, well done. You made it. You've proven to yourself that you can do it. Ok...now you can go and buy yourself a nice decent bike.
A couple more of the big-small loop...then we should be ready to repeat the Bukit Antu-Genting Peres ride. How about it guys? Ada berani?
