All exciting new Team Leopard-Trek

We're just few days in 2011, well technically we still are, and news of the new racing team, LEOPARD-TREK is definitely going to spice up this year's Tour de France!

The new new professional road bicycle racing team from Luxembourg led by the brothersAndy Schleck and Fränk Schleck, with Brian Nygaard and Kim Andersen as team managers. Looking from the team's line up, the goals are nothing short of domination in the classics and the Tour de France during the 2011 season.

Andy Schleck came second to Alberto Contador in le Tour in 2010 and 2009 and has won the white jersey for best young rider on le Tour for the last three years.

I really like to see Andy win the Yellow Jersey and this year is a good year to do that. When Andy was in school his math teacher asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up. The question was obviously designed to reinforce the value of learning something but it backfired. Andy's reply was, "I want to win the Tour de France". The teacher said when he did he, he (the teacher) would walk the 400 kilometres from Paris to Luxembourg. At last count the teacher has been lucky twice in the last two years.

Last year's tour saw Andy won 2 stages and wore the Yellow Jersey for the first time over 6 days. Contador on the other hand had a 39 second lead but won it without winning a single stage.  Andy lost it on Stage 15 climbing the hors categorie Port de Balès when he stood up in the saddle and made a break from Contador. He changed gear and the chain came off.

This year's Tour de France will definitely be a battle between these two riders and it's going to be really "panas"!

Here's a video of how TREK built the bikes

Based in Luxembourg, the team will be supported by the experience Trek has gained by winning 9 of the last 12 Tours de France. They'll be riding TREK Madone 6 equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 system.

The other joy that came out of the launch was the design kit. Its sporting a simple elegant, retro design base with white body, black upper, spliced by a light azure strip.
